A very special thanks to all of my teachers, and to the Voice Foundation

Lovely Studio, Great Acoustics, Kind and Skilled Teacher

Expect to enter a peaceful, beautiful space.  Expect your teacher who to be fully focused on you and your voice. Get ready to surprise yourself.

Lesson fees

Private voice lessons are $70/hour.  For the next two months, weekly lessons are only $60/hour if paid for a month in advance.

studio policies

At least 48 hours notice is required to change a lesson time.  All missed lessons are the responsibility of the student, and must be paid for. This includes lessons missed due to illness.

recitals!

We have at least one big recital each year, and several performance classes.

  • Friends and family are welcome to come to recitals
  • Before a student can participate in a recital they must show that they are ready

online lessons

Online lessons using Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc. are a great way to save time and transportation expenses.

  • Singers often feel more at ease in their own home
  • Scheduling is more flexible

methods of payment

Checks, cash and paypal are accepted.  Bartered services are not accepted at this time.

scholarships

Auditions for partial scholarships are held each Spring.  Scholarships are awarded based on skill level, exceptional talent, need and dedication.  The scholarship committee is looking for individuals who can commit to at least three years of study and a commitment to performing in all master classes, performance classes and recitals.

accompaniment

Singers are welcome to bring their own accompanist to class. Most contemporary singers use karaoke tracks, or bring their guitars. I have a studio guitar and a studio piano available to students.

arrive on time

Please arrive as close to your designated time as possible.  My studio is wide open, and some singers are shy. For this reason, I ask that singers do not arrive early.  Chances are I will be running a couple of minutes over with the student before you.  I have a tea bar set up for singers to enjoy a cup of tea while waiting.

Mutual respect

Voice lessons are all about trust. I trust you to come into my home and bring your best self to the studio, and you trust me to be present, aware and kind, bringing the best of my mental faculties and years of experience to your lesson.

  • Medical Issues: please let me know if you have any medical conditions or mental health issues that may affect your voice. Many medications affect the voice, and it is important for me to know how to help you keep your voice healthy
  • Cancellations Due to Illness:  Chances are that at some point in your vocal career you will have to sing with a cold or illness.  For that reason, come on in to your lesson.  Unless you have a fever or a severe cough, or are vomiting, chances are we can work through the illness. Besides, singing is great for the body, and most people leave feeling much better than when they started the lesson.
  • Safe Spaces and Boundaries:  I am not a therapist, nor do I pretend to be. However, singing can be emotional. I have tissues.

You are a valued singer in a safe place when you are in my studio!
